The Orange County Chemistry Awards Banquet will be held on Tuesday May 21, 2024, in the Grimm Student Union at Concordia University, Irvine. This event is held to recognize the top students in the Orange County Chemistry Olympiad, the High School 1st-year Exam and the Orange County Science Fair, as well as outstanding chemistry teachers and OCACS volunteers who have been serving their communities generously and enthusiastically for many years.
Dinners for student winners and their teachers are provided compliments of the OCACS.
This year’s High School First Year Chemistry Exam was held on Saturday April 27, 2024 at California State University Fullerton, 800 N State College Blvd, Fullerton, CA. A total of 211 students from 31 High Schools participated. At the Banquet, individual winners will receive cash awards and winning teams will receive plaques for their school.
The ACS Orange County Chemistry Olympiad Local Section Exam was held on Saturday, March 2, 2024. The top student from each school, the top six school teams and those who competed in the US National Chemistry Olympiad will be honored at the Awards Dinner.
The Orange County Science Fair was held virtually on March 6th, 2024.
Also presented during the Banquet are the Carol Grimes Teacher of the Year Award, the OCACS Volunteer of the Year Award, and others.

Invited Teachers and Student Winners: Open Monday April 29th, 2024, at 12 noon, and close Monday, May 13th, at midnight.
Guests of Teachers & Student Winners (each student may invite up to two paying guests): Open Monday May 6th, 2024, at 12 noon and close Monday, May 13th, at midnight.
ACS Members & Guests: Open Monday May 6th, 2024, at 12 noon and close Monday, May 13th, at midnight.
