OCACS Volunteer of the Year Awards

The purpose of the Orange County VOTY Award is to recognize the contribution of a great deal of time and effort made by an OCACS volunteer to conduct ACS outreach and educate the public about the science of chemistry.

The Section realizes that without the energies invested by volunteers, programs like National Chemistry Week (NCW) and the Chemistry Olympiad, and the many other activities that take place in our community, would not be as successful as they are today.

Awardees are presented with a plaque and a small gift, typically during a Section meeting or event. They are also recognized at the annual ChemLuminary Awards, on social media, and in a special article in Chemical & Engineering News.

Winners of the Award have been:

2024 :  Dr. Bev Matsuda

2023 :  Erin Araneta

2022 :  Robert Cohen

2022 :  Dr. Rabin Lai
