The High School Chemistry Symposium is an opportunity for high school teachers to share best practices with their peers. The symposium will be held in Rowland Hall at UC Irvine (Building 400, Ring Rd, Irvine, CA) on March 14, 2020, with presentations scheduled from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Registration for the event is limited to 36-participants, so please register early to secure a place. A fee of $25 will be collected from each participant, covering parking and lunch.

The 2020 symposium will feature presentations by leading Southern California Chemistry Teachers, focusing on:

  • NGSS Science and Engineering Practices
  • Scientific Inquiry

In addition to the scheduled presentations, there will be numerous opportunities for networking among symposium participants.

The cost to attend the symposium is only $25, which will include parking and lunch. The fee is reduced to $15 if you make a presentation! Enrollment for this 1-day conference is limited to 36 participants.

Participants are expected to bring a web-capable device (laptop or tablet) to the symposium. Safety glasses are also recommended, as some of the presentations involve hands-on chemistry. (Safety glasses will be provided as needed.)
