The theme for 2014 was: Sweet Side of Chemistry - Candy!
It was a fun day of day of hands-on science experiments for kids in one of the zoo's open areas.
Our NCW program offered a smorgasbord of hands-on chemistry experiments for kids, in which groups of college set up and demonstrated a different set of experiments.
We also had Rudy's Radical Science Show again.

This annual event continues to be very popular. In 2014, there were 1775 people who attended (plus a contingent of more than 200 volunteers from the colleges). We were able to continue our program of free zoo admission to families of Santa Ana and Tustin. As usual, many people requested free admission, including a number of children in our target audience in the local community, which is primarily Hispanic and without the financial resources to go to the zoo if the admission isn't free.
