High School students nominated by their high school teacher are invited to participate in the 2023 ACS Orange County Chemistry Olympiad Local Section Exam (LSE) competition on Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 8:30AM-11:00AM, at the Business Sciences and Technology Innovation Center (BSTIC), Irvine Valley College, Irvine CA 92618. (Note: Competitors will have to purchase a parking pass at the kiosk if they wish to park in the campus lot.)
The top ten individual students on the LSE will advance to the US National Chemistry Olympiad (USNCO) which will be held on Saturday April 22, 2023. The top twenty scorers in the U.S. on the USNCO will be invited to go to the National Study Camp in June.
The top four students at the National Study Camp will represent the U.S. at the 55th International Chemistry Olympiad which is tentatively scheduled for July 16-25 in Zürich, Switzerland.
The top student from each school, the top six school teams and those that competed in the USNCO will be honored at an Awards Dinner in May.

Registration for this year’s Orange County Chemistry Olympiad exam opens at 12 noon on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, and closes at midnight on Friday, February 24, 2023. Self-registration (cost: $20/student) is open from 9 am to midnight on Saturday February 25, 2023.
