National Chemistry Week
National Chemistry Week (NCW) is a public awareness campaign that communicates the importance of chemistry to our quality of life. The mission of NCW is to make a positive change in the public’s impression of chemistry. Every year during the third week of October, ACS members and chemistry enthusiasts celebrate NCW by coordinating events and activities that promote the value and excitement of chemistry to everyone.
In Orange County, NCW is usually an all-day event held at the Santa Ana zoo. The typical program is:
College students from all over the Southland assist kids with hands-on science.
