The Orange County Local Section of the American Chemical Society (OCACS), located in Southern California, is one of the 185 Local Sections of the American Chemical Society. Established in 1962, we have over 1000 members. We promote the general awareness of chemistry in our community and work with students to encourage their growth in the chemical sciences.

OCACS organizes many activities through the year, such as frequent dinner meetings at which you can listen to a professional talk, and the National Chemistry Week program, High School Olympiad, and Student Award ceremonies. In 2015 the Section organized the 2015 ACS Western Regional Meeting at California State University San Marcos.
