After a long hiatus due to the Covid pandemic, the ACS Orange County Section was delighted to resume holding the High School First Year Chemistry Exam this year. It was held on Saturday April 23, 2022, from 8:45 AM to 11:15 AM in McCarthy Hall, California State University Fullerton, 800 N State College Blvd, Fullerton, CA 92831.
The 2022 High School Awards Banquet will be held on Tuesday May 17 in the Grimm Student Union at Concordia University, Irvine. Individual winners will receive cash awards and winning teams will receive plaques for their school. Dinners for student winners and their teachers will be provided compliments of OCACS.
Registration for Dinner opens Monday May 2 at 12:00 noon and closes Wednesday May 11 2022, at 11:59 pm. Late registrations will not be accepted. Teachers should make the reservations for all winning students and their teachers from each school. Students may bring a maximum of two (2) additional paid guests with them.
All Award Ceremony and Dinner attendees, including students, teachers, members and guests, will be required to present proof of vaccination and their booster shot before being admitted. No accommodations can be given by the Orange County section for these ACS national guidelines since unvaccinated persons pose a danger to proctors and other students.
